“Observe good faith and justice toward all nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all.” George Washington, Father of Our Country, was a very gifted man and leader. Although he is known for his military abilities especially in his early career, he was truly a peaceful man. George Washington fought for the British in the French and Indian War and was able to defeat the French. Later, as General of the Continental Army, George Washington was finally able to defeat the British bringing an end to the Revolutionary War. Even though he had great success as a military leader, he preferred to live life peacefully as a civilian and to serve his country by being involved.
